Thomas Dreixler, president of the Gay-Straight Alliance at Blackburn College lead a large delegation to the Suicide Prevention Training, hosted by the I CARE CAMPAIGN in partnership with SAGE of Metro St. Louis.
The training seminar seeks to equip our community leaders with tools to avoid the tragedy of Suicides that have plagued the LGBT youth in recent months. As student groups, educators and youth leaders are often the first line of defense when addressing the immediate crisis that may face the youth among us.
GSA Chapters accross the Metro East Region work closely with students and faculty at both high school & college campuses in both Missouri and Illinois. They provide safe-space for students, and foster a dialogue of support to those affected by LGBTIQ issues. Each chapter is organized locally without a centralized governance.
