Building Together Announcement - Rev. Carol Trissell

Good morning! I just wanted to give you a quick update on this critical juncture of finalizing the construction budget and obtaining the final financing elements to make Building Together a reality.
MCCGSL had a surprise last minute adjustment on our planned loan from Pulaski Bank last Thursday when it was reduced from $1.2 million to $786,000 – a reduction of $414,000. The good news of this reduction was that it also reduced our future monthly interest payments over $2,000 per month and reduced our total loan from Pulaski for building acquisition and renovation to $900,000 at the end of three years.
The other challenge that came with this adjustment was the timing of our first worship service in our new sanctuary – which is now projected for some time in May rather than Easter Sunday. The good news of this timing change is that construction will still be complete by Easter. So, it is up to our willingness and ability to volunteer that will set the final move in date! I know that means “sooner rather than later!” Details will be forthcoming about how you can volunteer.
Praise be to God for the hard work of our architects, contractors, Building Planning Committee, Board members, and loan officers! By yesterday at noon, MCCGSL had an amended construction budget for Phase 2 that will create a beautiful sanctuary at a reduced cost; a plan for essential items that MCCGSL will now fund from capital campaign funds – carpet, chairs, tile, acoustical treatments; and a renewed sense that God is in this bringing good for MCCGSL in the midst of extremely challenging financial times.
Here’s what you can do to help MCCGSL move forward during this time:
• Pray for our application to be approved by Pulaski loan committee next Tuesday, Feb. 24.
• Pray for God to multiply our resources so that we can have the funds necessary to purchase critical items.
• Praise God for all the gifts, skills, and abilities that have been offered by MCCGSL congregants and the other people that is making Building Together a reality
• Remain faithful to your commitment(s) to Building Together of prayer, volunteer service, and/or financial gifts.
At this moment, I am thinking of the chorus we sing at the 11:30 service occasionally – “God is able, so very able. God is able to see us through. God is able. There’s nothing that God can’t do!” Amen – Hallelujah!
