2008 Olin Cup Competition

2008 Olin Cup Competition kicks off withkeynote speaker Robert J. Skandalaris. OnSeptember 10, the 2008 Olin Cup kicked off with akeynote from author, entrepreneur, andphilanthropist Robert J. Skandalaris. DownloadBob's presentation entitled "It's not yourfather's world: 10 observations impactingentrepreneurship\" at the Skandalaris Centerwebsite at http://www.sc.wustl.edu/.

The OlinCup is a business formation competition thatawards up to $75,000 in seed funding and awardseach year.

To enter, go tohttp://www.ideabounce.com/ and post your idea,and select "Olin Cup 2008" as the program. Thedeadline to enter is due date for the firstdeliverable: the executive summary dueMondayOctober 27.2009 Social Entrepreneurship and InnovationCompetition kicks off with keynote speaker RichardBaron. On September 25, the 2009 SocialEntrepreneurship and Innovation Competition kickedoff with a keynote delivered by Richard Baron,Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of McCormackBaron Salazar. Richard spoke on the topic"Rebuilding Urban America: The Role of SocialEntrepreneurship." His lively and engagingpresentation highlighted his firm's achievementsand touched on two important topics for thecompetition: the importance of collaboration, andthe measurement of social value.

The SEIC awardsgrants up to $100,000 each year. To enter, go tohttp://www.ideabounce.com/ and post your idea, andselect "SEIC 2009" as the program. The deadlineto enter is due date for the first deliverable:the executive summary due Monday, December 8. Free workshops offered by Skandalaris Centerand YouthBridge Community Foundation. Friday,October 10, kicks off our series of free workshopsfor commercial and social ventures, including"brown bag" sessions for Olin Cup and SEICdeliverables.

Our first IdeaBounce®of the year was September 18 in partnership withthe Freshman Reading Program and several "green"groups on campus, focusing on environmental ideas. Of the 5 bouncers selected as winners, three ofthem were freshmen.

Our next IdeaBounce® isOctober 23rd, and is our third annual SocialChange IdeaBounce® held in partnership with theCommunity Service Office. Our third and lastIdeaBounce® for the fall semester will be December4, when all ideas will be welcome.
